With Hillary Clinton’s bid to the White House probably winding down in the next few weeks, I collected some interesting stories and links about gender issues and political power.
- My search Google search with the terms “female president” easily located an interesting Website titled, Worldwide Guide to Women in Leadership, which is written by a Martin K.I Christensen, a Danish journalist.
- I also suggest reading Vicki Haddock’s article on “Are We Ready for a Woman President? U.S. Lags Rest of World in Putting Women in Positions of Real Political Power” in the April 29, 2008 issue of the San Francisco Chronicle.
- In the May 18, 2008 issue of The New York Times, Kate Zernicke wrote a Step Right Up column on, “She Just MIght Be President Someday.”
Recent articles focusing on Hillary Clinton’s determined campaign and its contributions to the question of gender and the US presidency include:
- In the May 19, 2008 issue of The New York Times Jodi Kantor wrote on “Gender Issue Lives on as Clinton’s Hopes Dim.”
- In the May 18, 2008 issue of The New York Times, Peggy Orenstein wrote a The Way We Live Now column on “The Hillary Lesson.”
- In the May 12, 2008 issue of The Nation, Barbara Ehrenreich wrote about ”Hillary’s Gift to Women.”
